Yes, you can send money to Türkiye from the UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia, and the UAE with Taptap Send. Transfers arrive in TRY directly to most Turkish banks, or via e-wallets and cash pickup. Sending from Türkiye is not currently available.

What delivery methods are available for Türkiye?

Taptap Send offers four delivery methods for Türkiye. Bank Transfer (EFT/FAST): send TRY directly to almost any Turkish bank account. FAST transfers typically arrive within minutes, 24/7. EFT transfers are processed on banking days. Üption (e-wallet): send USD, EUR, or TRY to your recipient's Üption wallet — great if your recipient prefers to receive in a foreign currency. UPT (Cash Pickup): your recipient collects cash in TRY, USD, or EUR from approximately 10,000 UPT points across Türkiye, including PTT branches. Card Transfer / Paycell: send TRY to your recipient's debit card or Paycell e-wallet.

How long does a transfer to Türkiye take?

Accepted Answer

FAST bank transfers typically arrive within a few minutes, any time of day or night. EFT bank transfers are processed during banking hours; transfers sent outside business hours or on weekends are processed the next working day. UPT cash pickup is available immediately once your recipient receives the reference code, which is valid for 30 days. Üption and Paycell wallet transfers are credited quickly once the transfer is processed — make sure the recipient's wallet is active before sending.

How much can I send to Türkiye?

Limits vary by delivery method. Cash Payout (UPT): 10,000 TRY per transaction, 100,000 TRY monthly. Üption Wallet: 10,000 EUR/USD/TRY per transaction; recipient limit 10,000 USD per transaction, 100,000 USD daily and 150,000 USD monthly per beneficiary. Account Deposit (FAST): 100,000 TRY per transaction. Account Deposit (EFT): 350,000 TRY per transaction. Card Transfer: 100,000 TRY per transaction. Paycell Wallet: 350,000 TRY per transaction.

Are there any fees to send money to Türkiye?

Accepted Answer

Taptap Send charges low or zero fees on most transfers to Türkiye. The exact fee and exchange rate are shown transparently in the app before you confirm. Taptap Send does not charge the recipient. However, the recipient's bank or wallet provider (Üption or Paycell) may apply a small cash-out or receiving fee — these are third-party charges outside Taptap Send's control.

Can my recipient receive USD or EUR instead of TRY?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With Üption and UPT cash pickup, your recipient can choose to receive funds in USD or EUR. Bank transfers (EFT/FAST) and Paycell currently support TRY only.

Question 7

How does my recipient collect cash via UPT?

Accepted Answer

Your recipient should visit any UPT point (including PTT branches — approximately 10,000 locations across Türkiye) and present the unique reference code sent to them by SMS from Taptap Send, and a valid photo ID (national ID card, driving licence, or passport) matching the name you entered. The reference code is valid for 30 days. If your recipient has questions, they can contact UPT directly at 0850 724 0 878 (from outside Türkiye: +90 850 724 0 878). UPT agents are generally available 09:00 to 17:00, 7 days a week.

What if my recipient's Üption or Paycell wallet isn't active?

If the wallet is inactive, the transfer will be rejected. Before sending, ask your recipient to confirm their wallet is active and that their details are correct. If a transfer is rejected, contact support@taptapsend.com and the team will help you resolve it.

Question 9

I entered the wrong account number or phone number — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

You have a 30-minute cancellation window after confirming a transfer. Contact Taptap Send immediately via in-app chat or at support@taptapsend.com. For a wrong phone number, email support from your registered email address. If the transfer has already been collected by the recipient, it may not be possible to recover the funds.

Is Taptap Send safe and regulated?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Taptap Send is a licensed money transfer service regulated in multiple countries — including by the New York State Department of Financial Services in the US and the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK. Every transfer is protected by bank-level encryption, and each transaction requires biometric confirmation (Face ID, fingerprint, or PIN). Taptap Send never sells your personal data.

Why does Taptap Send ask for identity verification?

Above a certain transaction limit, Taptap Send is required by law to verify your identity (KYC — Know Your Customer). This applies to all licensed money transfer services, not just Taptap Send. It helps protect you and your recipients from fraud and financial crime. KYC is a one-time process that takes just a few minutes. Once completed, you won't need to do it again for future transfers.
